League Season:  The summer competitive traveling season runs from early April to early July.  Older teams (U11 and above) may also choose to participate in League play-offs and advance to Regional and State play-offs that run through late July.  Practice schedules are set by the team (typically set by the coaches and team manger).  Practices start in early April (weather permitting) with MYSA league matches beginning in early May and running through early July.   League games are scheduled on weeknights (M-W or T-Th) with playing nights established by MYSA (http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/leagues/playingnights.cfm) based on age group and gender.  Teams play 1-2 games each week and will have 10-12 league games a season; half at home and half away.  RWSC is in the MYSA East District:  Away games are typically in the East metro, although leagues within the East District vary from season-to-season (the furthest you typically travel is 90 miles one-way).
Tournaments:  For younger teams (U09-U10), each team is entitled to participate in the mid season MSYA Summer Jamboree (http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/events/jamboree.cfm) and to select and participate in one other weekend Tournament hosted by an MYSA affiliate Club (http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/tourneys/sanctioned.cfm).  For older teams (U11 and above), each team is entitled to select and participate in one weekend Tournament hosted by an MYSA affiliate Club and to participate in League play-offs; advancement to Regional and State tournaments are based on performance.
Registration Fees and Financial Assistance:  The RWSC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.  Registration fees are based on the cost of team operation including MYSA fees, fields, referees, tournament fees and club administration.  The Club has a financial assistance policy.  Funds for financial assistance are provided by donations, fund raising and/or transferred from the general budget based on availability and need.  There is a limited amount of financial assistance.  The RWSC is an all volunteer organization; Club volunteers (Coaches, Managers and Board Members), are eligible for a nominal Volunteer incentive as determined by the Board each Season.
2012 Registration Cost
$120 for players born after 7/31/2001 (U09 and U10 eligible players)
$170 for players born on or before 7/31/2001 (U11 and above eligible players)
$20 LATE FEE FOR REGISTRATION RECEIVED AFTER 2/27/2011 (Late fees waived for first year players)
Jersey Kits:  Jersey kits are purchased by the players through the Club and include a home jersey (white), away jersey (red), shorts and socks.  The jerseys will have a club logo and player number.  Uniforms from 2011 may be used again in 2012. New 2012 players will need to order a full uniform kit. Returning players may order replacement pieces as needed. The current uniforms will be used through at least the 2013 Summer season. Should you outgrow or damage your uniform, replacement uniforms will be available for purchase each year during the summer soccer season registration period.
2012 Jersey Kit Cost:  $80 (jersey kit good through at least 2013). For returning players wishing to order individual replacement pieces, see the registration forms for pricing and details.
Each player needs to provide shin guards, practice gear (shirts, shorts, socks, etc.) and soccer shoes.  Soccer cleats are recommended but are not required.  Shoes with toe cleats, such as softball cleats, are not permitted.

Team Formation:  The club has a written policy that sets forth the process and procedures for forming teams (see clubs documents folder on website).  Team availability depends on player and volunteer interest.  Teams are filled based on age eligibility and order of registration.  U09 teams are filled with U09 age eligible players first, then younger players if space is available.  Age group eligibility is set by MYSA birth year guidelines (http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/leagues/birthyear.cfm); there are no exceptions to the guidelines.   Registration is complete when the club has received payment of registration and uniform fees, OR the Club has received a complete Financial Assistance application.  Teams are formed based on the Club’s commitment to providing an opportunity for as many players as possible to play soccer.  Teams are only formed when the Club has commitment of a volunteer Coach and Manager (typically parents of the team players).
