The Regulators and the Ellsworth Panthers battled for 2 1/2 hours on Monday night and scored a total of 33 runs. The Regulators came out on top 20-13 thanks to 8 runs in the top of the 6th inning. They had been tied 12-12 going into this inning and did what they needed to do to get the win. The game was nearly called for darkness, which would have brought us back to a tie, but the umpire continued the game. Hunter Phillips was 4-4 and Peyton Kohn went 3-4 at the plate and made a very nice bases loaded catch in the bottom of the 6th inning.
The RW Regulators played No. St. Paul (red) in the first game of a double header. They sprayed 10 hits and scored 17 runs for the win after 4 innings of play. Jack Kelly pitched 3 solid innings striking out 5 batters and only gave up 3 hits. He also went 2 for 3 at the plate.
Zach Anderson, Hunter Phillips, Sam Kelly,Gage Peine, Lincoln Bryan, Peyton Kohn, Dylan Hadler and Carter Reimer all had 1 hit a piece.
In game # 2 the Regulators beat No. St. Paul (black) 14-6 on 15 hits. Gage Peine and Hunter Phillips were both 3 for 3 at the plate. Dylan Hadler, Sam Kelly and Carter Reimer had 2 hits each.
Mitchel Taylor threw the first three innings striking out 5 batters and allowing only 2 hits. Hunter Phillips relieved Mitchel for the final three innings and struck out 7 batters.
